National Forklift Safety Day highlights best practices for the safe use of forklifts. In recognition of their exceptional commitment to safety innovation, we are proud to present the “Golden VR Goggles 2026” award to lliyas Ali, Forklift Training Facilitator at Poste Haste Group.
Iliyas’ technology-forward approach prioritizes coaching and education over discipline.
“Our main goal is to create and provide a safe, supportive space where everyone feels confident to learn and grow,” Iliyas explains. “We focus on coaching our people with the right knowledge and hands-on training, so they can confidently apply what they’ve learned in their daily forklift operations.
By using the simulator’s ‘see for yourself’ scenarios to teach rather than reprimand, his strategy has achieved remarkable results: High competency and healthy competition, with ~30 operators scoring over 92%. Pro-active safety culture, with operators actively addressing on-site breaches. Near-zero incidents recorded since March 2025.
By combining site-specific scenarios and coaching frameworks, Iliyas built a scalable system integral to daily Freightways’ operations.
